How do I set up the Booking Engine?
Updated this week

In order to set up your reservation module, i.e. the option for booking through your website (Booking Engine), you need to go to Settings > Booking Engine and there you can easily set all the necessary information about your facility so that it is visible to the guest when booking.

After you have everything set up, you have the option to export the booking system as a link that you can share with your guest or web designer who can then embed it on your website or download our official Wordpress plugin and place it on your Wordpress website.

Before you start with the Booking Engin settings, you need to set up the rooms properly, you can do that through Settings > Rooms / Extras. See detailed instructions for setting up rooms here. You need to fill in all the details about the rooms, such as:

  • Minimum and maximum number of persons that can be accommodated in the room

  • Area of the room

  • Numbers of bathrooms

  • Number of rooms (if you have an apartment with a separate bedroom, enter the room number 2

  • Amenities of the room

  • Room photographs

In order for the room type to be visible on the Booking engine, it is necessary that the circled box be checked for each room type.

When you are done with the room settings, you still need to complete the policy setting of your property in the "Property policies" section, for detailed instructions, see here. The most important thing is to add the cancellation policies that will apply to bookings through the Booking engine. You can do this by clicking on the "plus" icon in the Cancellation Policy section, or you can change an existing one by clicking on the pencil icon.

After setting the cancellation policy, the next step is to set the price plans and add the prices you want to be visible on the Booking engine. You do this through Settings > Pricing and Restrictions. See detailed instructions here. It is necessary to mark the rate plan that you create for the Booking engine, by clicking on the box Use on Booking Engine.

Such a rate plan will be framed in blue in the list of rate plans, and it will be visually easier for you to distinguish the rate plans that you send to your website.

Note: You can send several different rate plans to Booking engine.

Now, when you have finished setting the rooms, cancellation policy and pricing plans, it is time to make the settings of the Booking engine itself, which we do through the already mentioned Settings > Booking engine.

The Booking engine settings are divided into several segments, the first part is the Info segment where you fill in basic information about the object.

In the "Allow bookings until" field, indicate until how many hours you want to receive reservations for the current day. If you do not have a limit, select the None option in this field.

The next segment concerns the very appearance of your Booking engine, you can add a background, choose a theme, i.e. color and font, as desired.

In the segment related to the confirmation of the reservation, you can specify which data the guest needs to leave when booking the accommodation

If you want the credit card information to be mandatory, you must also check that option in the Property Policy section.

.

In the Promo Codes segment, you can create your own promo code with a certain percentage or discount in an amount that you will send to guests as you wish. Create promo codes by clicking on the "plus" icon.

In the Contact and Location segment, enter the contact information of your property that you want to be visible to your guest when booking accommodation.

If your facility is presented as a hotel, you can select Yes in the Use Google Hotel field and your hotel will be available during a Google search.

If you want to add new languages to your Booking engine, click here for detailed instructions.

When you have completed all the settings, in the upper left corner there is an "Engine preview" field. When you click on the field, a new page will open in the browser where you can see as a guest how your Booking engine looks like, as well as make a reservation for your facility.
