If your hotel has a pricing policy based on the number of people who are staying, we have quite a simple solution to manage this.
So first you should go to Settings > Rooms / Extras > Edit your desired room and go to the option which says 'Price per person' and activate it
You can view that we mark numbers like this (example of a room that can occupy 2 adults and 1 child)
1 Child |
1 Adult |
2 Adults |
How to choose which person has the default rate that you are entering through the calendar or prices/restrictions option?
Well if you want to use % based variations then you should place the number 100 and variation % for that specific person like this:
1 Child |
|
|
1 Adult | 100 | % |
2 Adults |
|
|
Now this means that when we enter a price of 50EUR in our calendar we are setting up a price for an occupancy of 1Adult.
If we want to increase price for 2Adults so it is 100EUR automatically we need to enter numbers like this because we need to increase it for another 100%, so it is 100(base)+100(extra)=200%:
1 Child |
|
|
1 Adult | 100 | % |
2 Adults | 200 | % |
And if we want to reduce the price for children by 50% we should place it like this (note that child prices are always being calculated like X% from the base price):
1 Child | 50 | % |
1 Adult | 100 | % |
2 Adults | 200 | % |
Another example is if we want that our base price for 2 persons and we do a reduction of 20% on the total price (because 100% - 20% = 80%) if only 1 person books and children pay an extra 50%:
1 Child | 50 | % |
1 Adult | 80 | % |
2 Adults | 100 | % |
So you have a limitless number based on your hotel policies.
We also have an option for fixed variation, there you should place 0 next to the number of persons which is based on rate, and + or - fixed number for more or fewer persons.
So example where you want to put the base price from the calendar and for 2 person price is 10EUR more and the Child pays 5EUR should be like this:
1 Child | 5 | EUR |
1 Adult | 0 | EUR |
2 Adults | 10 | EUR |
For example, where you put the base price for 2 persons, 1 person pays 10EUR less and children pay 5EUR would be:
1 Child | 5 | EUR |
1 Adult | -10 | EUR |
2 Adults | 0 | EUR |
Note: If you want to have specific occupancy-based pricing per each rate plan you can override default room type occupancy-based pricing by entering new policies directly in the rate plan by going to Settings > Prices/Restrictions > Edit desired Rate Plan and clicking again Price per person and follow above rules.
